About Us
Introduction
In 1956, Hong Kong Baptist University was founded by the Hong Kong Baptist Convention as a tertiary institute aiming to provide holistic Christian education. For years, Chaplain's Office has been shepherding the university community, playing an important role in caring for students and staff and upholding Christian values and traditions.
Chaplain's Office accommodates the whole person education in Hong Kong Baptist University, and strives to cultivate outstanding leaders, and to assist students in their personal and spiritual growth and pursuit of life goals.
Mission
To provide pastoral care and counselling services for the University community at large;
To serve as a facilitator in providing opportunities for the University community to gain a better understanding and appreciation of Christianity and to develop and grow in personal faith;
To cultivate, encourage, foster and nurture a caring community spirit within the University;
To assist in preserving and promoting the Christian heritage, tradition and atmosphere within this institution of higher learning.
